Glade Part 12 - Hunting Party

Lana and Mako arrive at about one in the morning because they had to travel after sunset. Glade opens the door before they knock and helps them with their bag, then they all go into town to hunt. M: "Sorry we're so late, we had to change at Reading and then it was delayed because some prat thought that it was a good idea to open the doors after they'd been locked."
L: "The whole train had to have the locks and alarms reset."
G: "I have seen that once before."
M: "We haven't. I didn't know it was possible."
G: "Some think that if they open the door, they will still be able to get to where they are going."
L: "They do eventually, but they have to wait half hour for a space. It was only half hour this time because it's night, in the day it's longer because there's more trains."
M: "Where are we hunting tonight then?"
G: "Oceana."
L: "Good."
M: "Why there?"
L: "Shut up Mako."
M: "Shutting up."
L: "I like it, and we can go somewhere else if you don't find anything you like." He nods. The taxi stops opposite the club and Mako climbs across Lana to open the door for her, then pays the fare before Glade gets there. Glade's eyes glow faintly, but he stays quiet. L: "Stop it, both of you." Glade is the host, so he should pay for the taxi, not Mako. Lana pulls Mako away and they all go into the club. They line up just like everyone else and show ID like everyone else.
They wait till a few more people go in before they wander off to find someone. Mako starts to follow Lana, but she wants him to follow Glade. L: "You know it's good for your instincts to go hunt with him instead of protecting me so shift." He kisses her and disappears into the crowd to find Glade again. Glade sees him and growls faintly, and so does Mako. M: "Lana said I should stick with you, good for instincts."
G: "Yes. Try to not get in my way."
M: "Can't we share?"
G: "I can if you can."
M: "Host first?"
G: "Guest first." Mako looks round but can't see anything close, so wanders through the crowd, but away from where Lana is. He sees a young man sitting on his own at the same table as people who know him, but not joining in. M: "Got a juice drinker."
G: "We can not walk away and leave him alone like that."
M: "Definitely not."
G: "Go on then." Mako moves close and listens for a while till he knows the guy's name, then takes something out of his pocket. G: "What is that?"
M: "Just a wire. The bouncers have these at most places now so they can hear instructions from their boss."
G: "A simple disguise?"
M: "Exactly. Watch and learn." He goes round and stands at the table and asks for the guy. "Could you follow me for a minute sir?"
"Uh, yeah, ok, but I didn't do anything and I never take anything."
M: "I'm sure you didn't, it's just tat we've had some trouble in clubs round here recently."
"Ok." He uses his ability to hypnotise the guy so he won't remember or feel anything, and leads him toward the inside door. When they're near it Glade follows and they sit down in the corner seats. Mako curls up on the seat and drinks from his wrist while Glade drinks from his neck. When they're done, Mako returns him to the group. "Thank you for your time sir."
"Yeah, glad I could help." The other people ask what happened, and he says that Mako just asked if he knew anything about his noisy friends having drugs and of course he said he didn't and they only asked because he was sober and seemed to not like being there. Mako wanders off and takes the wire off his ear. He always wears black on a hunt, it just feels more right. Lana saw someone straight away and followed her. She was dancing with friends, so Lana used her favourite ability to make the girl want to follow her, and led her to the toilets. Not the cleanest of spots in a club, but private at least. The girl silently follows her, and waits patiently when there's someone else there, just as Lana commanded her to. When nobody's there Lana opens the door and lets her in and gently drinks from her wrist. She waits till there's nobody there again before going out and letting the girl go. Mako and Glade still need to find someone else to share but decide that it's best that they hunt separately. Glade sees a woman he knows and follows her for a minute to see if she's with anyone or not. She's not so he says hello. "Want to play?"
"If you do."
"Are you going to introduce me to your friends?"
"Lana and Mako will not be here long."
"Lana and Mako. Mako means blue lightning. Is he named after a shark or lightning?"
"Lightning. Lana means star."
"Ah, another star." She moves so he can reach her shoulder easier to drink, so he does. "Mako can join you if he doesn't see anything he likes."
"He has seen another."
"Good for him. Ouch."
"Sorry."
"That's ok. You're distracted."
"A little."
"More than a little. One of them is aggressive?"
"Yes. Me and Mako have some bad history."
Mako has found a young man and is drinking, but doesn't like him. This boy has taken something and it's making him feel dizzy. "What did you take?"
"You want some?"
"No, I just want to know what it is."
"Meth."
"Don't take anything illegal again."
"Whatever." He uses an ability he rarely uses. "You will never use any illegal drugs again."
"I will never use illegal drugs again." Mako pushes him away and gives up trying to find someone else so he goes to find Glade or Lana. He sees Glade first, still with his female friend. "Hi."
G: "Mako, this is Leanne, Leanne, this is Mako."
M: "Hello." He steadies himself on the back of the seat.
"Hi. Do you want to play too?"
M: "Do you mind?"
"I don't mind. Glade's already had some."
M: "The kid I found was no good."
G: "Meth."
"How do you know?"
M: "Meth makes me dizzy."
"Want to get the taste out your moth?"
M: "Yes please." He settles down to drink and se notices something different.
"No little knife?"
M: "Fangs."
"Different."
M: "Guess so." Lana wanders around and chats to a few people till Mako is finished and they move away from the woman. L: "Ready to go?"
M: "I am."
G: "I am too. Would you like to walk or call for a car to take us?"
M: "How far?"
G: "A little under one third of a mile if we go across the road bridge south of here."
L: "We can walk it."
M: "Is there a foot path across that bridge?"
G: "I do not think so, but I have walked across it many times."
M: "If you're sure."
