Two humanoid vamps are walking through a mall, chatting to their friends. Female, well controlled, beast is black tiger. Male, well controlled, beast is grizzly bear.-They immediately feel each other's presence and turn to defend their friends. Her cat stands beside and slightly in front, towards him. His bear stands tall from his shadow at his side. They try to not show it but they are shaking slightly and feel the equivalent of hackles raised. They both growl slightly and when one of her friends tries to pull her away he instinctively half steps toward, and her cat yowls at his bear, who roars back at her. She visibly tries to calm herself, knowing that if one of them doesn't start to calm down they will both want to fight. He starts to calm down too and she slowly makes the calm sign to say safely that they are equals, there is no need to fight, and I am not a threat to you unless you are to me. He slowly copies it and they both calm. The cat sits and the bear lowers. They relax. The animals turn away at the same time, then fade. They look away, then slowly move forward to contact with a handshake, then they know that each other is not a threat and apologise. "Sorry, he doesn't always do that." "No it's not your fault, I should have been checking around." "Yeah, me too." "Um, I'm Laura." "Nick, nice to-uh..." "I know what you mean." "That's never happened before." "Me neither, lions and tigers right?" "You said it." "I'm online. Laura Stone, picture is a butterfly." "Nick Jones, picture's a black lab." She gets her phone out. " Might as well do it now." " Good idea." He gets his phone out too. "Found you." "I see it." "Numbers?" "Why not?" They tap a few times, swap phones to put in their name and number, then swap back. "I'll see you another time then maybe." "Yeah, I hope so too." They smile and go back to their groups to continue as before. Both are asked what just happened and both say it's an internet thing and refuse to say anything else while their animals watch each other around the corner.
